As the world recovers from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting slowdown of global travel and business events, destination leaders have had a rare opportunity to reflect on the impact of our industry on our communities—and a chance to rebuild in a way that is mindful, strategic, collaborative, and intentional. Join Jane Cunningham, Andreas Weissenborn and the team at Oxford Economics to hear about the Event Impact Calculator (EIC). Celebrating ten years, the Event Impact Calculator measures the economic value of an event and calculates its return on investment to local taxes. Armed with this information, destination organisations are better prepared to tell the story of their destination through data and make the case to policymakers and stakeholders for the ongoing development and growth of the events and meetings sectors.
